Forestry Technician (Timber Sale Prep)

Provide course descriptions as necessary. Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-5 level:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include meeting one or more of the following:
Performed field surveys in support of various natural resource applications; identification of plant and/or animal species; entered field data into tracking databases; worked as part of a crew collecting natural resource data; OR successful completion of bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school (120 semester/180 quarter hours) with major study in forestry, range management, agriculture, or a subject-matter field directly related to the position, or that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as forestry, agriculture, crop or plant science, range management or conservation, wildlife management, watershed management, soil science, natural resources, outdoor recreation management, civil or forest engineering, or wildland fire science (no more than 6 semester hours in mathematics is creditable); OR combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester/90 quarter hours) and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. For the GS-6 level:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include meeting two or more of the following:
Provided timber sale preparation support taking tree measurements, identifying tree species and quality & defect recognition & determination; Utilized maps, compasses, aerial photos and other field tools in support of timber sale preparation activities; Interpreted silvicultural prescriptions and timber marking guides to designate harvest timber; Measured amount and quantity of timber in designated timber sale areas; OR one full year (18 semester/27 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level coursework that is directly related to the work of the position (such as forestry, range management, agriculture); OR combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that together meets the requirements of the position being filled. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. For the GS-7 level:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in Federal service. Qualifying specialized experience include meeting the following:
Used computer programs to enter and process cruise data; traversed harvest units using processed data and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to produce maps. Experience in the fundamentals of timber cruising include:
taking tree measurements, map reading and compass use, species identification, defect recognition and determination, quality determination, traversing, use of aerial photos and timber cruising tools and instruments; use of sampling systems such as 3P, fixed area, point, and sample tree to determine statistically sound cruise samples; OR one full year (18 semester/27 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level coursework that is directly related to the work of the position (such as forestry, range management, agriculture); OR combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that together meets the requirements of the position being filled. Experience:

If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
